When choosing a unit for a home, you need to decide on the following characteristics.
one. Device power. First you need to calculate the total power of all electrical appliances that will receive power from the power plant at a time. After that, it is worth adding 15-25% of the margin to the result obtained, which may be needed to connect additional devices;
2. Types of engine and power plant cooling. This indicator is directly related to the previous one. If the performance is in the range from 0 to 10 kW, then you should stop at gasoline stations, with a power of 5 to 25 kW – at portable diesel power plants, with a power of 7 to 40 and more – at stationary diesel generators. Depending on the type of cooling, the devices are air-cooled or portable and stationary. Portable devices run on diesel and gasoline. They do not have a liquid cooling system for the engine. Generators with gasoline engines have a small motor resource, compact size and light weight. They should be operated during very rare power outages. Diesel-powered generators have longer life and higher performance. They are indispensable when carrying out construction work in the house, with long-term connection of tools. Stationary stations are produced only with a diesel engine. They have great performance and use liquid engine cooling, the same as in a conventional car. Stationary generators are suitable for round-the-clock operation. Generators running on gas are in great demand. They can be powered from a gas main or from a cylinder.
3. Type of phase. There are single- and three-phase devices on the market, each of which performs different tasks. In country houses, single-phase energy consumers are most common. If single-phase and three-phase consumers are found in houses, then different power plants should be purchased;
four. Variation of performance and functionality. The power plant can be put into operation manually using a cord, automatically and using an electric start. Portable devices are equipped with special chassis, with the help of which the devices are mounted. Stationary units can be open, in a protective casing, container manufacturing (they are used for installation on the street).
