The beach owes its birth to people, namely, thanks to their economic activities. In general, until 1967 there was an ordinary dump in this place. This is exactly what the locals thought and dragged all household garbage, appliances, glass and even cars there. The landfill appeared here at the very beginning of the twentieth century and over more than fifty years has turned into a huge dump with many thousands of tons of garbage, iron and glass.

But the authorities, nevertheless, closed this landfill in order to avoid an environmental disaster on the Pacific coast. Several times we carried out work to clean the coastal zone from large debris and waste. But it was impossible to collect small broken glass, and for many years it was polished by waves and turned into a lot of glass strewn all over the shore. Multi-colored glass pebbles were not sharp at all, having a rounded shape. The whole beach just sparkled with different colors, attracting attention.

Everything began to look very worthy and beautiful.

This amazing place is unique. In the world, such objects are no longer known, to the formation of which a person put a hand, and under certain conditions it might not have been. We were lucky, and we can go and admire this interesting, attraiting place in hot California. And if you’re lucky, then take some small glass pebble with you as a keepsake. Although it is strictly forbidden to do so, people still manage to steal glass souvenirs.
