Facade painting on plaster

For the correct painting of the facade, it is necessary to choose the right paintwork. All paint and varnish materials serve not only as a decoration of the structure, but also provide protection from environmental influences. The characteristics of the material must be combined with the conditions in which the coating will be applied. For facade work, water-dispersion materials (acrylic) are best suited. They come in three types: acrylic (AK), styrene-butadiene (BS), polyvinyl acetate (PVA).

If you are going to glue on wood, then it is best to choose a PVA dispersion. Paints that are made on the basis of PVA cost little money, but the paint is not waterproof, and it is used very rarely.

BS dispersions are not recommended for outdoor use as they are very critical to light. The advantage of these dispersions is that they are good in adhesives that require water resistance. These paints are used for finishing products that are indoors. The price of this paint is not too high.

Acrylic dispersions are the most versatile and their price is much higher than that of previous types of paints. More than half of the finishing materials in Europe are produced on the basis of acrylic dispersions. Acrylic paints are considered durable, sometimes they last up to 30 years, outdoors they can last up to 12 years. Oil paints only last up to 3 years, while alkyd paints can last up to 5 years.

Acrylic paints do not emit nitro solvents and can be considered environmentally friendly.

They also form a “breathable” coating. They open the way for vapors, but close for liquids.

Acrylic paints have explosion and fire safety, both during operation and during storage.

The last positive quality of acrylic paints, they are simple and easy to use.

At room temperature and moderate humidity, the paint dries in 30 or 40 minutes.

Before painting facades, it is necessary to clean the surface of dirt and get rid of old layers of paint. Also, before painting, it is necessary to degrease the surface, apply a hardening impregnation, if necessary, it is necessary to level the surface. After the walls of the facade have been carefully prepared, you can start painting. The choice of brush depends on the type of surface of the facade, it can be painted either with rollers, or use a paint control panel on the prepared surface.
